Internet traffic passes through the firewall to a managed PoE switch, which connects wireless access points, wired workstations, the network printer, CCTV equipment and network storage.
Everything flows through the firewall. Keep CCTV cameras and guest Wi-Fi on separate VLANs.
4. Wi-Fi done right
Wi-Fi Access Point Placement
Two ceiling access points are placed centrally in the office, with overlapping coverage areas. Mount access points high and central, avoid corners, and plan about one access point per 1,000 to 1,500 square feet.
- Use separate SSIDs for staff and guests.
- Enable WPA3 encryption.
- Prefer the 5 GHz band for compatible devices.
